Getting Around

Railway Services

Much of the route is quite close to the railway with fairly frequent services at most stations except on Sundays, when some lines have a very limited afternoon service only. There is a reasonable railway link between Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Royston, Great Chesterford (closed on Sundays), Dullingham (for Stetchworth), Newmarket, Kennett (for Kentford) and Thetford. Some of these connections will involve changes at Cambridge or Ely. There are also useful stations providing access to the route at Tring, Luton and Luton Leagrave.

Bus Services

It is important to realise that bus services to many of the rural communities along the route are few and far between - and these are often only weekday school and commuter services. County Councils provide travel information services which can be contacted as below.
